What’s in the Hulo?
HULOHULO意为葫芦,是一个探索东西方文化融合的咖啡品牌,主打创意咖啡、茶酒冰滴,通过咖与酒的组成,融入为品牌特制的组装式装置家具,实现更具品牌特色的社交场景。葫芦是一个充满东方色彩的符号,在古代,葫芦被视为一个有魔力,能储存珍贵物品的容器,我们将此作为品牌的符号识别,在葫芦图形的运用上去结合火焰的视觉设计,通过动态呈现,体现出「咖啡炼丹炉」的品牌概念,同时也希望葫芦作为品牌载体能创造出更多新奇内容。未知、新奇、探险是HULOHULO的品牌调性,我们用比拟手法去诠释精粹后的咖啡文化,希望HULOHULO可以成为众多咖啡品牌中独树一帜的东方品牌。
HULOHULO sounds similar with the pronunciation of bottle gourd in Chinese. We are a coffee brand that strives to explore the combination between Chinese and Western cultures, specializing in creative coffee products, tea and wine, and cold brew. With coffee and drinks, we aim at realizing more featured social scenes adding in brand-dedicated installation furniture. Bottle gourd is an oriental symbol, which is deemed as a magical and noble vessel in ancient times. We selected bottle gourd as our brand token and added in fire-shape visual design. Through a dynamic display, our design conveys the brand concept of “coffee alchemical furnace”, meanwhile, hopes that the bottle gourd can create more innovation as our brand token. Unknown, novelty, adventure is the basic tone of HULOHULO. We present a refined coffee culture in an analogical way, and hope that HULOHULO will stand out as a unique coffee brand with oriental charm.

Prospriety Grows inside Hulo
在面临场地条规与时间挟制之下,我们提出以「葫芦架」作为空间概念,基于品牌本身以「炼丹炉」的概念出发,衍生出葫芦元素,我们将其具像化用「葫芦架」来构设空间,也是对空间设计的诠释与回答。

Facing restricted site construction and limited time, we put forward the spatial concept of “bottle gourd shelf”. Based on the idea of “alchemical furnace”, the bottle gourd design is generated, which we further specify into the “bottle gourd shelf” design. This is our response and explanation of the spatial design.

我们理解的「葫芦架」并不只是传统印象中被固定化的架子,它是一个包含拆卸、组合、移动性质的灵动空间,HULOHULO的空间就像一个大的「葫芦架」,相对常规的空间塑造来说,我们希望能最大程度去「活动」所有物体,不管是其中带有功能性的吧台及桌椅,还是具有零售功能的展示柜体,基本结构性的天花等,它们都可以做到被活动和拆卸,这种灵活的运用方式会给空间带来更多的便利性;一个空间中70%的内容都可以被移动复制到另一个空间中,这种有趣的塑造方式,是我们寻求的,也是在限制条件之内去尽最大可能的满足项目的需求。
The “bottle gourd shelf” in our minds goes beyond common shelves of fixed mindset. It is a flexible space that can be detached, assembled and moved. HULOHULO itself is a huge “bottle gourd shelf”. Beyond ordinary spatial structure, we mobilize everything at the largest extent, including the functional bar counter furniture, the seller display case, the basic structural ceiling, etc. They all can be moved and detached. This flexibility will bring more convenience to spatial utilization. We are looking for a more interesting creation way where 70% content of one space can be copied into another one. Also, by this means, we have satisfied the project demands as much as possible under a restricted circumstance.

空间中一些比较具象的塑造呈现,例如水吧台与展示柜体,展示柜体们就像一个个「炼丹炉」,它就像一个承载工具,我们在这些「炼丹炉」中灌入不同的内容,可以化身为音响装置,可以成为户外绿植培养箱,可以收纳咖啡豆也可陈列各种器皿,这也是我们点题品牌概念的另一种趣味性体现。

In our space, there are some concrete presentations, for instance, display cases of the beverage bar are designed in shape of “alchemical furnace”. They are the carriers of different elements, containing audio equipment, plantation incubator, coffee beans storage, tableware display and so on. This also corresponds another interest concept in our brand value.

如果HULOHULO在白昼的属性是适合商谈或惬意放松的空间,那夜幕中的HULOHULO则是灵动鲜活的社交场所,用咖、酒链接创意及多元化的生活方式,构建出更贴近HULOHULO的品牌氛围。
HULOHULO suits business meetings and leisure activities in day time, while at night, it can be the perfect and vivid social venue, connecting creativity as well as diverse lifestyle with coffee and wine, and constructing a more HULOHULO featured brand atmosphere.

除了注重把控出品的质量,我们同样关注人与人之间的互动感受,通过回访和交流不断的提升和输出产品,完善待客服务与运维好品牌文化,如同品牌标识葫芦的特点一样,不断蔓延、生长及结果,如同「葫芦藤蔓攀星空,葫芦腹中有内容」的句子般,以咖、酒为媒介,空间为载体,光临于此的顾客都是共同建设品牌的参与者。
Besides attention on product quality, we cast priority to the interaction experience between people too. Through follow-ups and communication, we constantly improve our products, customer services, and maintain healthy brand culture. Just like the token of bottle gourd, our brand is spreading, growing and achieving. As our slogan goes, outside the bottle gourd, its vines stretch towards the starry night; inside the bottle gourd, the content is multiple and profound. In our space, coffee and wine are media, and every present customer is part of our brand building.
